100 CDs for 100 bloggers

Excellent idea for an add-on viral campaign on record releases from The Viral Garden.

It’s a simple and elegant concept: Record labels and artists “pre-releasing” their music to 100 of their most rabid, or influential fans, who have blogs. Sending them a signed copy and asking them to review it on their blog… most likely the reviews will be good and, as Mack writes, the spillover effects of this type of small, but meaningful, marketing gesture are huge. This is the kind of community building that has direct results on ROI… word-of-mouth within the target demo, with an endorsement and positive spin/ goodwill, will result in increased sales.
I hope a label steps forward to give it a shot.

  1. Thanks for the shout-out Tamera! Let’s hope we can make enough noise to wake up the labels! ;)

  2. Thanks Mack! Go get ‘em… I’ve got your back ;)
