5 things meme
I’ve been tagged by Eden (who has a most excellent shopping blog) with the “5 things you didn’t know about me” meme…
So here goes:
- I hate winter. Passionately. I get cold really easily – probably due to the 10 years I spent in LaLa Land.
- My musical tastes range from G’nR to Mozart to Dr. Dre.
- I am obsessed with Civilization IV
- I was in a band in LA when I was 21 for 3 short weeks. We recorded 4 demo songs, played 2 gigs, and shot a video with an indie director for his reel. I didn’t want to be a rock star so we didn’t do anything with it.
- I used to be 5′9 1/2″ before two car accidents in 6 months back in the early 90’s (neither my fault). Now I hover around 5′8″-ish.

Somehow, I have always managed to avoid being officially tagged by a meme – until this day!
Here are my five things:
1. I am an avid birdwatcher (I drive my husband crazy on hikes because of the constant stopping and looking – “Is that a sharp-shinned hawk?!?”)
2. I was once a punk rock girl (for real – my best mohawk was red)
3. I think that Don Rickles looks like Yoda.
4. I bought the ZeFrank T-shirt (but I did NOT contribute any money to buy the German Kid one)
5. I am afraid of ghosts. Seriously.

Hey Eden! The thing that gets me though is when I was growing up I loved winter – I was outside constantly. Hockey, sledding, snowball fights, snow angels… I wish I didn’t cringe everytime I leave the house these days, ’cause those activities were fun :)

Maggie, have you been to the Inn by the Falls in Bracebridge? They have ghosts :) I stayed there once and was very disappointed to have not had a sighting!

3. My current favourite band right now is the The Eels -
4. In high school I had two of my friends dress up as the Ramones and make a presentation on the Spirituality of Punk Rock to my World Religions class – my teacher had no idea it was a hoax. In hindsight I probably spent more time putting the hoax together than I would have on doing an actual project – got an A
5. I spent a good portion of a summer traveling across Canada dressed in a sweltering Super Mario costume promoting the launch of the Super Nintendo System

Hey Tamera – uh, no – I tend to avoid staying in places with ghosts, places that look like they might have ghosts, and places in which people say the word “ghosts” too many times (it could attract their attention).
